Assemblages: 2015 to date
You know how it is, you walk along a beach in Tobago and can’t help but notice the abundance of washed up flip-flops, bottle tops and rope? One day they spoke to me saying “pick me up, take me home, reveal my personality…”
It was a natural development from working on the series of 26 alphabet artist books to making collections of assemblages, sculptures and ‘drawings’ using found objects. First it was faces, then more specific the Apostles, Zodiac, people and portraits.
In 2016, Cecilia was included in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition – two bits of a wrecked Toyota ‘sugrued’ together!
