About

Mike Abrahams is an interdisciplinary artist currently fascinated by the power of words to tell it like it is.

His practice is an exercise in going beyond the given and against the grain, deconstructing the world around us and the way that we behave within it. Through painting, film, performance and methods of collective making, assemblage and sculpture, artist books and drawing, Abrahams’ interventions are made into that which is often banal to the point of invisibility, exposing and unravelling the wiring that lets us see only that which we wish to see, and encouraging a more conscious relationship to our surroundings.

Abrahams is a member of Riverside Artists Group and his work has featured in a number of exhibitions including the RA Summer show. His artists books are in the collections of Tate, V&A and other international institutions and his collaborative installations with artist Francesca Giuliano can be found in Dalston Square, Hackney and Kensington Central Library, London.
