Obscure: Delete

Many artists make work in response to memory. I make a lot of my work from found objects which carry their history in their essence and form. What I particularly respond to is the deliberate intention and intervention to delete or obscure.

Whether it is painting a room by building up layers of undercoats, hiding an electricity meter behind a door or deleting the image of a political opponent, somehow there’s always a thread left waiting to be pulled which I can’t resist tugging.
