River exhibition
My work is always a reflection on the concept of chance. Recently, I’ve started making text based works where one message is found inside another. So when I decided to make a piece for the Riverside Artists Group, River exhibition at America Square Conference Centre, part of the Totally Thames Festival 2021, fishing dropped into my mind as that’s a pretty chancey occupation. Good but not good enough!
Gone fishing, is a euphemism for ‘checking out from reality’. So finding those words in the United Nations Foundation: Five Global Issues for 2021 was an irresistible gift encompassing what I feel about political proclamation and reality.
