“I have run out of tears” said Yulia Yanchar, Khotyanivka Ukraine, 5 March 2022 on BBC R4. I painted her heartfelt words which continue to haunt me. Was this the best I could do in response to her visceral suffering? I painted her words and then painted over them again and again, hoping they would disappear, but they just faded a little. I now realise that the theme of Obscure:Delete has been a constant in my work.
