“I want to quit my job and don’t know what to do with my life”
That’s not what the first six artists who had completed an intensive three terms at Nimble Art School (nee Hastings Art School) thought when they joined. Then it was “I make art that fits around the day job, the kids, socialising, gym, etc”, it was a nice to have… not a must do or else…
Across interdisciplinary lines and exploring their varied interests, Mike Abrahams presented work and a set of video interviews with Dawn Borthwick, Samantha Davies, Milan Matejka, Nastia Sleptsova and Lucy Taylor that has been inspired by, a reaction to, and a refuge from ‘the day job’.
